“Boy + Bot” by Ame Dyckman is an endearing tale of a special friendship between a boy and a robot. They play and have fun together while trying to understand the differences between them. When Bot’s power button gets switched off, the boy mistakenly thinks that he is ill. As a true friend, he searches for means and ways to ‘revive’ Bot  again. Conversely, when the boy falls asleep at night,  Bot mistakenly thinks that Boy is not working and needs oiling in his joints to wake up. Through these acts of love, they learn more about each other’s uniqueness and how to  be a better FRIEND. This is a moving tale of friendship, kindness and compassion that you should read to your child, especially if he/she likes all things robot!
